A fragile, animal-like figure bends over a blooming center – yet whether it offers protection or collapses is left uncertain. This tension between care and exhaustion runs through the entire piece.
With gestural lines, transparent layers, and a deliberate use of color, Marina Kraus creates a visually and emotionally charged space. The work moves between abstraction and symbol, presence and absence – a painting about vulnerability, protection, and the search for stability.

About
In Keep Me Safe, Munich-based artist Marina Kraus presents a fragile, animal-like figure bending over an inner glow. Whether it is offering protection or collapsing remains unclear – and this ambiguity is the source of the painting’s quiet tension.
The white shape appears translucent, almost disembodied, caught in a moment between becoming and fading. At its center, a vivid red floral form pulses with life and vulnerability, grounded by deep green tones that suggest both support and abyss.
Through gestural openness and layered textures, Kraus blends emotion with form. Her visual language recalls elements of Art Informel and Symbolism – intuitive, raw, and emotionally charged.
Keep Me Safe explores intimacy, protection, and the delicate balance of inner states. It leaves questions unanswered – and lingers all the more because of it.
